Slate Scrin Mine

Entrance of Slate Scrin Mine

Access

On National Trust CROW land. Entrance is a slippery vertical slot in bedrock with a short climb down inside (care) high on the narrow vein immediately to the north of and parallel with Faucet Rake, where both plunge down the steep western flank of Cowlow Nick. No tackle required. Slot higher up the hill is a backfilled shaft opening into the roof of the mine, and should not be touched for safety reasons.
