Fern Cave

Entrance of Fern Cave

Access

block No access to this site allowed.

Actually a large and very old opencut stope on High Tor Rake (fenced off and locked) rather than a cave. Intersects at 90° with 'Roman Cave', an equally old but shallower opencut on the eastern extension of Hard Rake, which is open. Fern Cave is on land belonging to Derbyshire Dales District Council - no access agreement is in place.
