Old Ash Mine

Entrance of Old Ash Mine

Access

Gated adit on the west side of Northern Dale opposite Lords and Ladies Mine roughly midway between Wensley and Snitterton. Shaft entrance on top of the crag with a locked steel lid with a latching mechanism reached through a small slot.

Access to the sites on Lobby Farm including Old Ash Mine should be arranged in advance (especially evening visits) with Mr. Shaun Greatorex by calling (reveal). He will ask to see your BCA PL Insurance cards or other proof of PL insurance when you call in at the farm to collect a key. Note that the footpath down Northern Dale is not a public footpath.
